SHIFT: No Weekends
Basic responsibility is to accurately translate patient information and into alpha-numeric medical codes for compliance and timely reimbursement. The billing and pre-certification coordinator works with the front office staff and is one of the first point of contact between Radiation Oncology department and its patients. Duties assigned to this individual is the handling correspondence; scanning records into the EMR; submission of compliant global/technical charges on a daily basis; pre-certification needs required by insurance carriers; creates journal entries in EMR regarding billing/insurance findings and alerting manager regarding billing/pre-certification issues. The coordinator also serves as a back up to the staff assistants for lunch, vacations and/or peak patient needs.
Shift: Full Time (no weekends)
Required: High school diploma or equivalency degree.
Preferred: Associates degree (2 year program) or Bachelors degree (4 year program)
Certification or License:
Required: Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire.
Required:Medical Billing certification (i.e., RHIT, AHIMA, AABM, AGPAM or AAPC)
Required: At least one year in hospital and/or physician office in insurance verification and/or charge capture/billing. Data entry skills and experience. Experience with ICD10 and CPT4.
